Tsumeb Mine Notebook
2024 – 2025
Tsumeb Mine Notebook (PI Raquel Alonso-Perez) documents the mineralogical heritage of the Tsumeb mine in northern Namibia — one of the most important and spectacular mineralogical occurrences on Earth. The project draws on specimen data from Harvard’s Mineralogical & Geological Museum and makes it publicly accessible via an Astro static site hosted on GitHub Pages, backed by exports from the museum’s TMS collections database.
Worked with David Flood, Ryan Muther, Cara Buzzell (design), Katie Sanders (data steward), and independent researcher Malcolm Southwood.
