Remapping the Očhéti Šakówiŋ Oyáte: Orature as Deep Mapping (co-PIs Christopher Pexa and Samantha Majhor) documents storytelling from Očhéti Šakówiŋ community members and tribal citizens about culturally and historically significant locations — via video and audio recordings linked to geography — to support language preservation, knowledge exchange, and community engagement across Lakota and Dakota-speaking populations. Funded by the Mellon Foundation.
